These unique locking pliers are purpose built for plug/rosette welding. The substantial solid copper clamping surface sits behind the panels. The copper does not allow the weld bead to stick to it, so the you can drop a weld puddle directly on to it, forming the rear of the plug, and still unclamp the pliers with ease. Eliminates burn through when plug welding thin sheet metal. The front of the pliers is an open design for unobstructed access to the spot being welded.
